Los Angeles, CA-based Jarrow Formulas has unveiled a highly concentrated, standardized broccoli seed extract dietary supplement called BroccoMax. The supplement contains a standardized concentration of SGS (sulforaphane glucosinolate) extracted without solvents from broccoli seeds. According to Jarrow, SGS is metabolized to sulforaphane, which is a highly active antioxidant that has been demonstrated to be a potent inducer of phase 2 detoxifying enzymes and a protector of DNA. Each capsule of BroccoMax contains 30 mg of sulforaphane glucosinolate at a concentration more than 20 times greater than is found in broccoli.
